About Spielberg

Spielberg was formed over 30 years ago, initially establishing a leading market presence in Germany maintaining and supporting IBM punch card systems. From this a great deal of expertise was gained in interfacing with data management systems.

Using this expertise, Spielberg began working with Canon in Germany, producing drivers and record management applications that promoted the sales of Canon microfilm equipment. The launch of the first Canon digital microfilm scanner in 1989 was the starting point for the company's specialisation in the management of digital data.

The Spielberg team began work on ScanFile, following on from applications introduced to assist sales of the proprietary Canon Canofile desktop filing solution. ScanFile record management solution, now in its eighth generation, has grown to encompass all low to medium size business requirements. Such is the scope of ScanFile that it can be scaled to meet the needs of corporate enterprises right down to small businesses. Meanwhile, remaining true to the old legacy, all Canon document and microfilm imaging scanners are supported with specialised drivers, optimised for speed and precise control.

This close relationship with Canon has given rise to an ever-growing international network of distributors and re-sellers, most of which are either Canon regional companies or Canon partners. As a result ScanFile is currently available in a number of languages. At this time these include English, French, German, Dutch, Japanese and both Chinese "Traditional" and Chinese "Simplified". Others are being considered as international demand grows.

In order to support the growing ScanFile distributor base, an international marketing and technical support company, ScanFile International Limited, was established in mid-1998, staffed by former long serving Canon personnel with many years experience in the sales, marketing, installation and support of document management solutions.

To meet the demands of delivering a state of the art document management system, and supporting over 5,000 document management installations worldwide, with development both anticipating and responding to customer requirements, the software development and support teams have quadrupled in size in the last 5 years, thus ensuring that we are in a prime position to maintain our leading role in supplying solutions that meet your needs.
